For screenshots, icons and transparency

Compress PNG, keep the details that matter

Make PNG files smaller while keeping the format and transparent background. Upload screenshots, logos or illustrations, compare fine text and smooth colours, then download the result.

Balanced size and speed — recommended

Compress your PNG in three steps

  1. Choose your PNG files

Upload PNG images and start with the default compression level. This page accepts PNG only; use the main image compressor for other formats.

  2. Compare useful detail

Inspect text, icon edges, transparent shadows and gradients against the original. Keep an editable source for later changes.

  3. Download the smaller files

Download individual PNG results or a ZIP. When the format stays the same, delivered files do not become larger.

Keep transparent backgrounds

PNG is useful for cut-out graphics, interface icons and soft shadows. Compare partially transparent edges on the background where the image will appear. This tool keeps PNG output; PNG to WebP is a separate choice.

Screenshots and colours need different checks

A simple icon may shrink differently from a screenshot full of colours. Zoom in on small text and look across smooth gradients.

A photo saved as PNG may stay large

For photographs, an accepted JPG or WebP can be a better fit. For graphics, try the PNG result first. See how to reduce PNG file size for dimensions and format choices, or use the main image compressor for mixed files.

FAQ

PNG compression questions

  • Bitinz aims for a difference that is hard to see, but compression can change pixels. Compare small text, edges and gradients before replacing the original; PNG's lossless encoding does not make every optimization lossless.
