Terms of Service

Terms for web image compression and the developer API from Bitinz. Please read these terms and our Privacy Policy before using the service.

Last updated:

Upload and retention limits on this page are the service defaults until current settings load. Settings can change; check the upload area before sending files.

Scope of the service

We offer PNG, JPEG, WebP and AVIF compression. Results depend on the image and selected level. With the original format kept, the result may be the original file if it cannot be made smaller. WebP conversion can produce a larger file. Check downloaded results for your intended use.

Your content and responsibilities

You must own the rights to uploaded content or have the permission needed to upload, process and download it. Do not upload illegal or infringing content, distribute malicious files, attack the service or evade access limits.

Rights to images remain with you or their original rights holders. You allow us to process images only as needed to provide compression, temporary storage and downloads.

Upload limits, quotas and result availability

The current upload limit is 25 MB per image, with up to 20 images at a time. There is no limit on how many images you compress on the web; administrators may temporarily enable hourly limits by IP or account against abuse. When enabled, consult the service response for the applicable limits. The developer API counts usage against a monthly account quota.

To prevent abuse, we may temporarily limit the request rate from an individual network address or block abusive sources.

Results are currently retained for 4 hours, including the original file if it cannot be made smaller with its format kept. The period starts when the task is created. Downloads stop working at expiry and files are cleaned up automatically. Keep your originals and download results in time; this service is not long-term backup storage.

Account and key security

Keep your password and API keys secure and do not disclose them to unrelated parties. You are responsible for activity through your account or keys. If you suspect a leak or unauthorized use, revoke affected API keys promptly and contact [email protected].

Abuse and suspension

We may restrict access, suspend or terminate accounts and API keys for illegal use, infringement, quota evasion, attacks or other abuse. We may also pause parts of the service for maintenance, faults or security issues.

As-is service and limits of liability

The service is provided as is and as available. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation or suitability for a particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or business interruption arising from use of, or inability to use, the service. These terms do not exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, or affect your statutory rights.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service changes. Updates will be reflected in the Last updated date on this page. For questions about the terms, your account or the service, contact [email protected].
